About Our Nursery
The Meadows Private Day Nursery aims to provide young minds with a rich and diverse learning environment. We are located on the bus route on the main B743 road through Mossblown, a quiet village just outside of Ayr and a few minutes’ drive from the A77. We encourage both staff and children alike to grow, learn and create each day. We offer full day and half day child care for children from 0-12 years as well as wraparound care for children attending Annbank and Tarbolton Early Years Centres and Primary Schools. The building has been newly renovated to create an on the level, open plan, safe, secure and welcoming environment including a fully enclosed outdoor area. As of August 2019 we will be working with South Ayrshire council delivering funded hours of care and learning to eligible 2-5 years old.

BA Childhood Studies (SCQF level 10)
Since qualifying in 1999 I have worked in various child care settings including at a Montessori kindergarten, out of school care, crèches and nurseries. Since 2006 I have mainly been involved in the training and education of child care staff across the west coast. In 2014 I opened my childminding business from home which has gone from strength to strength. Based on this success I am delighted to be expanding into new premises to create The Meadows Private Day Nursery.

What We Offer
Language & Literacy
The language and literacy experiences that children have before they start school form multiple and powerful brain connections. These connections are used for language, thinking and understanding. Without activities like talking, singing and reading, the brain doesn’t develop this rich network of connections.
Sensory Play
From birth, babies learn about their world using their 5 senses: seeing, smelling, hearing, feeling and tasting. As they grow, children’s senses are their main way to explore and process new information. Sensory play enhances learning through hands-on activities that stimulate the child’s senses. This is a great way for children to explore the world they live in!
Outdoor Learning
Children playing and learning in an outdoor environment appear more active, absorbed, motivated and purposeful, and develop a more positive attitude towards learning.
